Greeks and Romans associated Hawthorne with marriage and fertility. Hawthorne Berries have been used since the nineteenth century to support the heart and to normalize cardiovascular functions. The Hawthorne tree has long spiky thorns that are very effective at protecting the young parts of the tree. We had what started out as a bush that my husband repeatedly threatened to cut down, but I held firm that I liked it where it had sprung up, and finally he tripped the bottom up, and it is now provides us with these beautiful blossoms.

I live in Central Illinois in the very small town. I take pictures and create art. Art has always been my passion, but it was only in 2010 that I've decided to pursue it. I decided to name my art business in honor of my father, D'August Art. He always encouraged and supported me in my art.
